EWEHOPE came to be out of a nod to the Border Collie breed heritage as herding dogs – a “ewe” is a female sheep, and an eternal homage to “Hope” (Neecabe Designed With Hope), my very best girl and the first Border Collie entrusted to me by an ANKC/DogsAustralia breeder. It serves as wordplay for the future because “You Hope” that they’ll be everything you want.
I grew up with dogs: my father was a veterinarian, my mother was a veterinary nurse. My first ever dog was a pedigree Collie (Rough) named Gemma. In the 90s, I became an admirer of show line Border Collies and promised myself that I would some day own one for myself. 20+ years later, it finally happened.
We train and aim to compete with the dogs in DogsAustralia sanctioned show and sporting events including, but not limited to: conformation, herding, SprintDog, lure coursing, rally, agility & sled sports. Border Collies are an active, intelligent breed that thrives when they have a task to complete and work to be done.
I am fortunate to work predominantly from home. My dogs share their lives with my partner, my partners’ Collie (Smooth), cats and one human child that believes each of the dogs is actually his dog. As such, all of my dogs can be trusted around young children and other pets.
